Each year million's of Americans strive to kick their smoking addiction.  Not many of these people are successful.  Maybe some smoking quit tips will help them achieve their goal. 

At the top of the quit smoking tips list is to visit your doctor.  Let him give you a complete check-up.  When you have been smoke free for several months get another physical check-up.  You probably already feel better but you will see actual results with the doctor's tests.  This should make you want to achieve your final objective to remain smoke free the rest of your life.

Make a plan.  Do you want to quit “cold turkey” or taper off slowly?  Current data shows that quitting cold turkey has the best results.  Your physician may also be able to offer you some quit smoking tips and possibly a prescription for a nicotine alternative.  Be prepared for the various side affects that some of these medications can cause.

Make a dental appointment.  See that they clean and buff your ivories.  Removing the yellow from teeth comes at a price which should keep you smoke free.  Not only will your teeth look and feel clean but your breath will smell better as well.

Next on the quit smoking tips list is to recognize and realize that during this nicotine withdrawal period you may experience different emotional feelings.  It is very common to have moments of crabbiness or sensitivity.  These feelings are easier to handle if you know why you are experiencing them. Those closest to you want you to be successful and will be there for you if you do suffer some low days.

Get a comrad to join you in quitting so that you can be subject to each other. This is one venture that requires moral encouragement

Another tip is to make a list of all the pros and cons for quitting smoking. There will most definately be more on the positive list. At the top of the list should be for health reasons and the money you will save. With increases in the cigarette tax not many can afford to buy them anymore. If you have children put them on your list of reasons to quit.  Your kids mimic you and aspire to be like you.  Tack this chart where you can see it each day.  If pressure to take a drag starts to mount, reread the positives for quitting.

Anyone who is checking out this website obviously wants to kick this habit.  If you are aware of these few quit smoking tips there is no reason you shouldn't start immediately.  Be good to your body and put down those cancer sticks once and for all.
