Understanding Different Types of Depression
Depression is a complicated illness. Depression can fester and get worse over a long period of time without being noticed . It's known that some 15 million people in America will be impacted by some type of depression each year. Unfortunately fewer than 1/3 of these people will look for help for thier depression. In many cases the afflicted do not even realize that they are ill. Every day stress is common in the modern world. It has become harder and harder to deal with the every day obstacles of life. Many people live pay check to pay check. The competition to keep a job has been enhanced by the crisis in our economy. Stress can give birth to depression.
Countless types of depression exist. Many of the labels are similar in meaning. These include medical depression, clinical depression and manic depression. Severe depression refers to the most advanced form of the illness. Many things cause depression. There are those that believe it is biological, that chemical imbalances in the brain lead us to depression. Depression can also be caused genetically from your family history. If your grandfather and father suffered bouts with depression than you may be at risk to suffer it as well.
The same issues can give birth to many different types of depression. Substance abuse can lead to depression. Rather it is alcohol or drug abuse, both has shown evidence to depression. The death of a family member can increase the chance for depression. Mental depression historically has a stigma associated with it. Prior to mental illness being recognized as a disease it was considered by many to be a personal defect. There was very little treatment offered. Every stage of depression has its ill affects. That's why early detection is vital to treatment.
When depression becomes severe depression then medical care is a must. Suicide often takes place in this final phase. The calls for assistance weren't answered and now the chance to solve the problem is fading. Treatment is typically 'talk therapy' and anti-depressants. Support groups can also help. Natural herbs have also been found to work. People who suffer from any type of depression have options. If lingering signs of depression exist then please seek help.

There is a difference between the blues a short term feeling down and being clinically depressed where it is a long term more than two weeks straight with other symptoms, such as changes in apetite, sex drive feeling of hopelessness. Clinical depression is a physical change in the brain where your mood chemicals are out of sorts. Depression and other mental illnesses like OCD, Schizophrania are not all related.

Maybe looking at all the positive aspects of your life will help you that there is something worth living for. Another reason could be that the serotonin levels are not balanced and it might help to go on an antidepressant especially if this is an ongoing problem. They are designed to balance the serotonin levels in the brain and your could be too low. Of course, it is always ideal to try to work out your problems without medicines, but something it is inevitable. Some supplements that are pretty effective for depression and low energy include Sam-E and St Johns Wort. You should try those before jumping to meedications as the risk of side effects are not as likely with the natural supplements.
Um...Thanks? I'll...make sure to do that! No street drugs! Okay!

fireincarnation is right. If you are on a med and feeling this badly, you need to call your dr straightaway and tell him/her. unfortunately, most antidepressants have possible suicidal thoughts as a side effect, especially in younger people (less likely in the elderly).
Some meds help quite a bit, but it might take a while to find the right one for you.
Please call your dr and get help. If you are not comfortable with your dr, then call a different one. You now have a daughter who needs you and you must do this for the both of you!
Good luck and take care.
I love this. Do some more. Great point you make about why they leave out the addiction category.
There are several different types of depression!
I would politely decline.
The guy seemed rather discombobulated in the first part of the video, at the least he seemed more focused after his treatment. Great vid - I loved it being short and to the point!
A brain scan with functional MRI is enough to predict which patients with pediatric anxiety disorder will respond to "talk therapy," and so may not need to use psychiatric medication, say neuroscientists.
Hasn't science proved a schizophrenic brain has more activity in certain areas, and more degeneration, that it's basically like a circuit board that fires off when it shouldn't, and won't fire when it should? Hadn't they tied it to the body's regulation of insulin and dopamine?
Well, if they had, maybe one day neither psychiatrists nor neurologists will be treating those patients. Perhaps it will be an endocrinologist.
Frankly, I would be glad to have a psychiatrist caring for a schizophrenic relative or friend. They know how to "decode" the types of weird things they say when they're sick, and they know when to medicate or hospitalize them to keep other people safe from harm.
Mental illness doesn't just come from nowhere, like a god. So it must be organic. Even if certain ones are caused mainly by drug abuse. Still organic, coz it's the body's response to the changes occurring from what is introduced to the body.
Whenever a new study pops up linking video games to something or other, the cycle that follows just feels like they’re sort of going through the motions. Not in this particular case, as it’s raised the ire of the ESA to unheard of levels. Some naughty scientist might just get a strongly worded letter. On [...]
I had a feeling it ran in family's genes!

DepressionFilter: I'm on meds and am in talk therapy. However, I tend to fall apart on weekends and at night. What coping strategies might I try in order to help with the downness that comes with nights and weekends? [More info, including potential factors and meds schedule, inside.] #1: Medication and therapy history: I've been on meds and going to one-on-one talk therapy for almost 8 months. My current med slate is: 100mg Lamictal/ + 1000 IU Vitamin D supplement + birth control pill (generic Seasonale) in the morning, with 600mg Seroquel XR + 1mg clonazepam + varying doses of diphenhydramine (I'm currently in the midst of cutting down my daily usage of diphenhydramine on advice of my pdoc and am currently taking 150mg nightly.) at night. The Lamictal/Seroquel/clonazepam/vitamin D dosages have remained unchanged since early January. I've been on the same birth control pill since around 2003-2004. Blood tests have shown that my vitamin D supplementing has brought those levels into a...
We've seen plenty of neat 3D printing products over the last year or so, though none are as impressive as this bicycle in terms of scale. Unveiled by EADS (European Aerospace and Defence Group), the Airbike is "grown" with nylon powder using a process called additive layer manufacturing, which is similar to 3D printing but with the added benefit of laser-sintering to reinforce the structure. This way the parts can save up to 65 percent in weight while retaining the same strength (of steel or aluminum in this case), and apparently Airbus was quick to pick up this technology well before everyone else (hence named Airbike, in its honor). It's all well and good, except EADS does say there's still some way to go before we can print our own custom Harley-Davidson bikes without breaking our banks. Shame -- as with many things in life, we'll just have to wait. EADS's Airbike is a 3D-printed nylon bicycle, actually looks rather decent originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 09 Mar 2011...
Identifying the root cause of any mental condition plays an important role in how to treat it. In order to deal with a problem properly, it is imperative to target the causes, rather than just the symptoms of the condition.
Depression is a complex condition to deal with for anyone. It is normally the result of chemical imbalances in the brain, but the causes and effects can vary which makes Depression Overcoming Treatments difficult to diagnose.

This is the first time ive heard a song twice on the same vid.Wierd but thier must be a message that the vid provider is tryna get by.
I am a schizophrenic and without drugs I probably would be dead by doing something psychotic. Apparently the drug is interacting with the spirit or psyche to calm it for the patient.
