First off, it's not "my drill". I say again, I have no affiliation with the company that produces this equipment. I simply found some interesting equipment at the IHRSA convention, tried it for myself, and posted a video about it. Secondly, do you really put that much faith in pictures? Most "before and after" pics you see in magazines and blog ads are completely falsified and some are taken on the same day. Pictures are perhaps the easiest "proof" to fake.

If it is what this person does want then they should allow it, because people can be stupid and often a situation like this (learning an ex is terminal) allows them to have a different set of priorities and values. Could be a great learning experience for the both of them

You can minimize the amount of money that will be directed to his estate by selecting a Beneficiary on his Life Insurance and Critical Illness Policies. RRSP Bene should also be his Spouse. RRSP can be rolled-over to his Spouse's RRSP. Segregated Fund investments (RRSP/RSP) should have a Bene as well. But his other assets in his name will be part of his Estate. The Executor is responsible to pay off any of his creditors. I recommend talking to an Estate Lawyer over this as its far too complicated for this forum. Best of luck through this difficult time!
I find it helpful to make a food and progress diary. Write how you feel when you are having sucess and log when you are not as well and then write down a commitment to do better. Also, if you can find a friend who is also participating in a fitness program ask them to be your fitness partner. Whether you excercise together or not, you can share your goals and help each other with your accountabilty to your respective programs.

Books can teach you the bottom belay techniques you'll need to lead climb. If all that is set are the anchor points, you'll need some Quick-Draws and some slings. The actual belaying is pretty much the same as top-roping with a bottom belayer. All you are doing is just moving the anchor point up the wall as you go. In a gym or a rock that has a pre-placed sport route, this is a good place to learn the belay technique.
You can use static or dynamic rope...all depends on how much bounce you want when you fall. A lot of gyms are switching to static rope lately.
I strongly suggest that if you are planning to venture out of the gym get some real-life instruction before going Trad. I'm still learning things about nuts, cams, hexs, tri-cams, etc. even after climbing for a number of years.

i might, but remember that it's not a replacement, its a help. i would like to think that if i died know ( with a husband and kid) that he would hopefully find someone to be a mommy to my little one. I would hate for my child to grow up without a mother. I might try and help my husband find someone, but it would be hard, I would try to find someone in the same problem, so they have each other.
pretty cool. I started young since I was idolizing the tools in muscle and fitness and flex magazine.
I don't have the magazine but I know some exercises. If you tie a 5 pound weight to a rope about two foot long and tie that rope to the middle of a stick about one foot long, then hold the stick with your arms extended away from your body and turn the stick so the rope will reel on the stick until the weight goes all the way up to the top, and then let it unreel slowly you will get stronger forearms. For the Triceps, hold a 5 or 10 pound weight on one of your hands, hold it above your head and bend your elbow so the weight is behind your back. Bring it back up and repeat as many times as you can. For the biceps you can use small weights to do each arm separate or weights on a bar to do both arms at the same time. Hold the weights down in front of you and bring them up to your shoulder level. Do as many repetitions as you can. 10 repetitions with heavy weights will give you volume, and lots of repetitions with smaller weights will give you endurance and will make your muscles cut. For the shoulders lift weights on a bar from your shoulders up above your head while standing up, you can lift then behind your head and in front of your head. Don't exercise the same muscles every day.Alternate the muscles that you exercise.
