Those of us who enjoy a good run now and then can all understand the demands that are required for the activity. Some of the most obvious are good weather, comfortable, supportive shoes and attire, and not to mention time! Elliptical trainers vary in price range and can be purchased online or at most fitness equipment stores. You don't have to purchase an elliptical trainer to use one, as they can usually be found at most gyms now.

Sorry MrRanger you don't have to lift a "ton" of wieght to get results. You DO need to practice progressive weight resistance where over TIME you gradully lift heavier weight. Many people make the mistake of trying to lift too much too soon, get sore, get hurt, get frustrated in not seeing the results they expect and then quit. Slow and steady wins the race. Getting a "bodybuilder" look takes time. Not weeks or months. Years and not just one or two.

or do things like yoga- i have no idea how it works but it TOTALLY helps you lose weight.
also a good way to lose weight (or just get a healthy metabolism) is never sit still. if you're sitting down, try tapping your foot. it's surprisingly good for you.
