The Cause of Aplastic Anemia
Benzene Attorney Leukemia Statute of Limitations
Aplastic anemia may vary in cause and in its course with each person affected. Aplastic anemia, a condition of the blood, affects the bone marrow and the cavity of the bone.
Red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets are produced in the marrow of the bone. The bone marrow must constantly produce new, healthy blood cells. The condition of aplastic anemia affects how the production of blood cells occurs due to damaging the bone marrow and slowing or causing erratic production.
Aplastic anemia development, in most cases, is clear to doctors in relation to the causes. There are cases where the doctor cannot identify why the patient is suffering from the disease and the symptoms of aplastic anemia.
Causes Leading to Aplastic Anemia
Below are some common factors that can potentially cause the bone marrow to become severely injured in a patient’s body, which can potentially lead to aplastic anemia:
- Radiation or Chemotherapy Treatments - With these types of treatment the cancer cells are hopefully killed off since they can have a damaging effect on healthy cells within the body
- Benzene Exposure - Benzene, which is a known carcinogen, can have fatal effects on those who are exposed through inhalation, handling or ingesting the chemical over an extended time period
- Medication Use - Some types of drugs, such as certain antibiotics and other medications can be behind the cause of aplastic anemia
- Autoimmune Disorder - Certain autoimmune disorders such as lupus can cause injury to your body and the bone marrow because it can start to attack healthy cells
A Rare Disease
Roughly 1,000 people in the United States each year are diagnosed with aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia appears to be more common in Asian countries where the number of cases is higher. Aplastic anemia is more likely to happen to people who:
- Have been exposed to benzene and other toxic chemicals over an extended period of time
- Have autoimmune disorders and viruses like HIV and hepatitis
- Have some type of inherited disorder
Considering researchers have been studying the causes behind aplastic anemia for decades, there are now several effective treatments available for those with the illness, no matter what caused them to develop it. Commonly used treatments for aplastic anemia are chemotherapy, medication and blood transfusions. Although risky, bone marrow transplants may be required in cases that are more serious.

Are you looking for information on aplastic anemia treatment? Read here about options.
I did not make this video, sorry for the extra video.
Well, first you better make sure that the patient disagrees as well as you do. If the patient agrees with the decision, you have no right to say its unacceptable.
But, if the patient disagrees, they could try getting second and third opinions.
However, on what basis is your disagreement? Do you really know the medicine enough to say the doctors arent doing all they can? Do you really know the medicine enough to say there is a reason to keep going? Or are you reacting out of not wanting your relative to die?
Beyond that, you should also realize that this may be an insurance thing, not the doctor's decision. If the person has medicare, they can try making appeals for the treatment to be funded, or you guys can band together to raise the money necessary for the treatments.
Your question can only be answered intelligently by your doctors.
Generally:
"Bone marrow transplantation from a related, matched donor can treat aplastic anemia — without recurrence — in about four out of five cases."
From the Mayo Clinic site, link below.
Good luck.
Thank you for your updates. My bestfriend is 4yrs out form transplant. Keep up the fight!!

Hi. I can't really answer your legal question but I believe that the statue of limitation has expired (please don't quote me). There are two childhood leukemias of interest: ALL & AML. I have to assume that your husband had ALL, which is more common in children, about 60% occur in kids, usually occuring in the first 5 years. Increased incidence of AML has been reported in patients with prolonged exposure to Benzene & petroleum products (interval between exposure and onset of Leukemia is between 10-30 yrs). Unlike adults, most childhood ALL leukemias are cured or go into prolonged remission. There is a lot more to know but I hope this gives you an overall idea of the two diseases. Please post additional medical info on your husband and I can answer any medical questions.
Thank you for sharing this specialized information.

'Government is supposed to work for us, not the other way? around like the liberal politicians would lead you to believe' this is the opposite of the truth. you're 'ideas' are entirely self-serving, your special interest above the next person's. and you haven't the first clue about what side of the aisle is in your best interestes anyway, because you are easily led, and find the first shepard that fits your narrow POV and your automatic reaction.
