Beachbody's P90X is great if you are CURRENTLY fit and wanting to become more fit. I generally recommend Billy Blanks' BootCamp Elite with resistance bands for beginners or people looking for good cardio and moderate weight training.
I went through about a year of BootCamp Elite and am currently on week 2 of P90X Lean. Hope this helps.
If you're wanting to build muscle, P90X Classic or Doubles is the way to go. My husband is about 6'3" and 174lbs. He's doing the Classic for now to build more muscle, I'm doing the Lean. All it takes is a yoga mat ($8 at Wal-Mart) and a pull up bar (you can get on for about $10 at Wal-Mart that hangs in a doorway or you can spend a little more ($70) for a pull up tower). Either works fine. You also need some free weights, whatever weights you can do curls, presses and shoulder flys with.
If my wii fit says I've lost 1lb in 4 days, I've lost 1lb. if it says I've put on 1lb in 4 days, it's a stupid game that doesn't work.

You can probably use a warm damp sponge or cloth. Not sure about using cleaning solutions though.

If this is an increase over what you're currently doing and you balance it with healthy diet, it certainly will help.
I don't jog at all (I have terrible shin splints) but I average 5 hour long yoga classes a week and the inches I've lost have been amazing. I would recommend increasing the amount of time you spend in the yoga postures as they help to build lean muscle mass that will, in turn, burn more calories for you through the day.
