If you want to create a fake tan without paying too much money on a salon session, here are a few things you should know about how to use a home spray tan with maximum of results. Many people choose this variant to booth tanning because of the costs, however, the opinions are shared about which version is the best: machine tanning or do-it-yourself tanning. But, we'll only discuss the tanning option available for home use.
The skin preparation is very important for the application of the home spray tan. You should shower, exfoliate the skin, shave and dry without applying any moisturizer whatsoever. Why is exfoliation necessary? Well, the coloring agents act only on the superficial dead skin layer on top of the dermis, the thinner this is, the longer the tan will resist without wearing off. The home spray tan option involves a selection from a wide range of products belonging to different brand names.
However, you should be aware of the fact that a home spray tan from Lancome will be more expensive than a no-name product, to give just an example. The bronze look is the main feature that distinguishes a good home spray tan from a low quality one. Then, an important aspect that you should bear in mind is that color builds in time, at least for the first application. Little active substance should be used at the very beginning, spread a thin film and let it work and brown the skin gently.
After the application of the home spray tan, you should let it dry completely, and not shower for at least five hours. Do not apply the home spray tan before going to the gym for instance, because intense perspiration may cause streaking. The skin dryness thus influences the quality of the color. If you want to make the tan last longer, use warm water and mild soap when showering. Then, the tan will also get worn off if you towel vigurously or you bathe very often.
Try to use loose clothes on the day you tan. Color may come off from hands, joints and the face particularly a day or two after the application of the home spray tan. Moreover, for darker skin blotches, you can reduce the tan intensity with some lemon juice rubbed into the skin.

if you want an ultra dark tan, then go for fake bake xtreme tan, it never fails. Or the St Tropez everyday is just £12, and if you buy the medium to dark version, then you only need a couple of applications till its really dark. hope that helps.

My guess is your allergic or sensitive to something in the lotion. Try a different brand and pay attention to the ingredients making sure none or most are not the same.
The second you step out of the sun is the second that you stop adding to your tan. It will develop over the next few hours no matter what you do with one exception that I know of. Aloe Vera seems to stop tan or burn from developing once applied.
Tanning bed. Works fine still. bottom half needs a few light bulb replacements. My girlfriend used it like this for 2 years. Got her a newer one.

You have time. No need to make the house "picture perfect", that is the mistake most make. Just tidy things up, it does need to look 'lived in', afterall, you don't want it too tidy, a toddler can certainly make a mess!

go to a tanning salon, and tell them your problem with not being able to tan very well. they have loads of tanning oils there. some dont work very well and others are amazing. theyll tell you which one the best is for you

Apply first to clean exfoliated skin-then lotion up after it dries. Although some self tanners do say to use a Primer (lotion) to moisterize dry areas. Just follow the label for best results.
You need the different licenses from the government agencies. Once you start with one the others will let you know what you need. A building up to code. Also a trained staff.
