The decision to undergo cosmetic eye lift surgery is a personal one, and only you can decide if the benefits are worth any potential risks.  The first and very important step you will have to take is selecting a surgeon, and you should find a reputable surgeon who you can trust.  At the very least your physician should be American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) certified, and preferably a certified member of the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).Such specialized surgeons have special training both in cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and bones surrounding the eye and in eye microsurgery.  An experienced surgeon should be able to be able to apply the latest surgical techniques for optimal results.Importance of surgeon’s experience and your comfort matters with the cost consideration.  Some surgeons will offer a financing plan and also have their own surgical facility, which can cut down on cost.  You should also carefully review your health insurance policy as most health insurance does not cover cosmetic surgery.

Initial healing after cosmetic eye lift surgerymay include swelling, bruising, and irritated or dry eyes.  Irritation at the site of incision is also possible.  Laser  surgery is perhaps not only the safest type of surgery, but it can also minimize bruising and incisions and speed up recovery.Surgical results will come out within weeks and eyelid surgery can correct certain conditions permanently.  However, it is important to remember that you will continue to age naturally.  Continued use of sun protection and a healthy lifestyle can help maintain your results.
