I think it's fantastic how America create awareness for cerebral palsy, here in Australia there is no advertisements for birth injuries, no awareness, Australia has very little knowledge about it, which is a shame and a pity. I know a few people who's babies got CP from birth injuries. It seems to be happening more often now. I will make sure Australia gets awareness. Ppl with CP hav special gift and blessing from God that everyone else don't get. They are special and I love them
You blush because of your irrational belief that blushing is the end of the world! The cure is actually quite simple: stop fighting it! Right now, IMAGINE yourself saying or doing something embarrasing in front of someone, and examine at their facial reactions. Tell yourself, "how bad really is it? They don't affect me. So what, who cares if I blush?" Write this down, read it and believe it as if it were factual. Say this statement over and over especially during anxiety-provoking situations.

Your child's chances are the same as anyone else. Cerebral palsy isn't something that is passed down from parent to child, it is a birth defect that happens before birth, during birth, or perhaps even shortly after birth. It is usually the result of a stroke. So, I would not worry too much, as your husband cannot "give" your child C.P. It isn't apart of him in that way.

Progressing does not mean changing for the better, or changing for the worse. It simply means changing in one direction, (Could be good or bad).

I have mild cerebral palsy on my left sde and favor my right, but you could start with squeeze ball for that hand or large, soft objects he could hold. Also depending on his intelligence (not saying he's mentally challenged) have him twirl a crayon or pencil between his fingers for both hands. Little activities like that are great, he'll still favor his good side much more than his palsic side but it'll be much better for him in the long run.
