Doesn't everyone know what the food wheel is all about? In basic terms it is a graph of all of the food that the body needs to stay active and healthy, and surprisingly the fatty foods are also needed. Others on the list are dairy, meats and fruit and vegetables. On top of all of this there is another wheel within this that contains things like protein and calcium.
So when you are eating that hamburger do not just think to yourself ill leave it at that, mix it up a bit. The next day cook a bit of fish to give yourself some protein and have a bit of a salad with it to make sure you get the right nutrients.
The thing is when you diet it is very hard to get everything you need to stay healthy. Many people will exercise for hours and eat very little and many other will exercise then eat something that is very unhealthy and all you are getting are the body fats that the body needs but does not constanly need. A diet is very different to what you might think it is.
A diet is really the food that your body takes in to use. If you go and stop these coming into the body it is no longer a diet but starvation. There is a very fine line between being on a diet and stopping your body from getting what it really needs to have. Still there are things out there that you can take to make sure your body gets what it needs and they can often be found on an online health store.

it depends on how many calories you consume in a day already and your activity level. Lets say you want to eat 1500 calories a day to lose weight if you can eat what you want and still have those 90 calories than yes. also if you walk about a mile each day ( at the min) then it should also help.

I eliminated dairy products, any type of meat, chicken beef etc. and just ate vegetables and fruits and nuts, and in about a month, my psoriasis was GONE!!! it was very hard to change my diet at first.... but it was sooo worth it at the end =D hope this helps

Eating more calories than your body needs results in fat. A calorie is energy and when the body has to much energy or calories than they are stored as fat.
Carbs are the easiest thing for your body to use to create fat stores.Carbs are almost pure energy for the body and the energy from carbs is normally immediatly stored if not used.
Rarley will you gain fat from protein sources since protein is used to repair damaged tissue. Only if an excessive amount of protein is eatin will that happen.
Fats themselves are not bad and dont always go towards the fat stores in the body. The body needs all kinds of fats to perform all finds of bodily functions.
Another way is when the body gets to few calories and lowers the metabolism to accommidate this. If this persists than the starvation response is activated and the body will store all the food it can as fat in order to prepare itself for lower and lower amounts of calories.

Any supermarket has its fresh foods (produce, dairy, meats, bread) and then its dry goods (aka "center of the store" goods, or something. There's an industry term for it that I forget.) WF's center of the store goods are IMO expensive and often not quite as worthy of their price premiums as their fresh foods are of their price premiums. (Tangentially, I have a bunch of cranky old man moments whenever I go to nearly any supermarket. Ready-to-eat Thai curries in jars? It's just curry paste + coconut milk, except now you can't even adjust the curry paste to taste! Mirepoix pre-cut? Geez, learn to cut a few vegetables!)
Lentils: High in iron and dietary fiber too, lentils are easy to prepare. They're great for curries, soup (obviously), or braised with wine. And, a cup of cooked lentils will give you 35% of your daily protein.
Chick Peas: Chickpeas, or garbanzo beans, are delicious—mash 'em up and fry them for falafel, throw them into a salad, or eat them straight out of the tin. Eating a cup of chickpeas gets you 30% of your daily protein needs.
Tofu: I never could get used to tofu; it was one of my great failures as a vegan. But 4 ounces of tofu nabs you around 20% of your protein intake—and there are a slew of potentially delicious dishes you can make with tofu. Seitan and tempeh are high protein foods worth keeping around, too.
Nuts: Eat plenty of nuts. Just about any kind will do—avoid salted nuts, at least at first, because you might find yourself eating more than you did in your non-vegan days. Walnuts, almonds, and cashews are some personal favorites.
Peanut Butter: Logic may dictate that this should be included in the 'Nuts' category, but I say there's a difference. Peanut butter comes in handy in completely different ways—on toast in the morning, in a sandwich for lunch, even as part of a chunky topping to a dessert. Now, peanut butter is the least purely healthy food on the list, so use it sparingly, and buy organic to avoid the processed stuff.
